Big Broadway Stars Light Up the Civic Center in July & August

Laughs written by Neil Simon, the inspiration of Bob Fosse and classic hits like "Big Spender"--what's not to love about SWEET CHARITY? Lyric's brand new production of the beloved musical will run July 10-14 at Civic Center Music Hall and will star Oklahoma-grown Broadway actress Milena Govich (Charity Hope Valentine) and many more. You'll spend the whole evening laughing!

Then, don't miss the rousing musical Irving Berlin's CALL ME MADAM, July 24-28, starring Broadway darling Beth Leavel (Mrs. Sally Adams). This golden age treasure is inspired by Oklahoma City's own international socialite and ambassador Perle Mesta!

To top off the summer season, Lyric presents the Broadway legend herself, Chita Rivera, in Chita Rivera: MY BROADWAY, August 7-11. This intimate night of music featuring Chita's best Broadway hits will leave you wanting more!

ThElma Gaylord Academy Hosts Master Classes & Theatre Magic

Lyric's ThElma Gaylord Academy has two upcoming special camps for kids:

The Master Class Intensive is available to ages 8-18, July 23-27. Participating students will attend two classes per day in a range of theatre concentrations including stage combat, stage make-up, improvisation, dance and vocal projection. Tuition is $175.

Theatre Magic is open to kids ages 5-7 and will be held July 30-August 3. Introduce your young children to theatre with classes in acting, singing and theatre movement. Theatre Magic will culminate with a short musical presentation. Tuition is $175.

S&B Burger Joint's "Pay it Forward Tuesday"

“Pay it Forward Tuesday” benefiting Lyric is all day Tuesday, July 17 at S&B Burger Joint! Eat lunch or dinner at S&B Burger Joint at 5929 N. May, Ste 106 or at 20 NW 9th, and Lyric will receive 10% of the total sales that day! S& B Burger Joint is open from 11am to 10pm on Tuesdays.

This group plans several other events throughout the year, including opening night parties, holiday celebrations, and the renowned Lyric Indian Taco booth at the annual Festival of the Arts. They also assist with other donor events such as the nightly reception at the Civic Center during Lyric's summer season.

Exciting news! Allied Arts has been selected by Brighton to receive proceeds from the sale of Brighton's limited edition Americana bracelet. For every Americana bracelet purchased for $48 at the Brighton store in Penn Square Mall, $24 will be donated to the Allied Arts Educational Outreach Program. This special opportunity ends July 31 or when supplies run out.

The Broadway Pre-Show Show with Wilson (The Intern)

If you arrive early to SWEET CHARITY, CALL ME MADAM, or Chita Rivera: MY BROADWAY this summer, make sure you stop by The Broadway Pre-Show Show starring Wilson (the intern) and his incredibly talented friends from the ThElma Gaylord Academy! During SWEET CHARITY (July 10-14), the Pre-Show Show will feature singers Thomas Fleming, Sam Brown, Aaron Stewart and Heather Newby. The performances begin 45 minutes prior to showtime in the lobby.
