Local Talent Joins National Actors For Lyric's BOEING BOEING 3/30-4/9

Local_Talent_Joins_National_Actors_For_Lyrics_BOEING_BOEING_20010101

Lyric Theatre is bringing laughter to the Plaza Theater stage with the hilarious comedy, Boeing Boeing, showing at the Plaza Theater from March 30th through April 9th. Fasten your seatbelts and take a first-class flight with Lyric Theatre as it presents the 2008 Tony Award-winning Best Play Revival, Boeing Boeing.

Enjoy this hilarious 1960s romp, immortalized by Jerry Lewis and Tony Curtis on film. Bernard, an architect living in Paris, has been successfully juggling three international flight attendant fiancés, Gabriella, Gloria and Gretchen, with his housekeeper reluctantly playing romantic air-traffic controller as they fly in and out of his swank bachelor pad. A new, faster Boeing jet has been introduced into the mix, and things get rather turbulent as schedules change, flights are delayed and chaos ensues in this whirl of mayhem and matchmaking. Go up, up & away as Boeing Boeing soars right out of its time zone and into the stratosphere of classic comedy.

This comedy is directed by Lyric Theatre's Artistic Director, Michael Baron. Michael, director of Lyric's wildly successful sold out performances of the recent Always...Patsy Cline, The Rocky Horror Show, as well as the fun festive holiday hit December Divas, is excited to bring this high-energy farce to our Lyric audiences. Boeing Boeing's design team includes Chris Domanski, set designer; Jeffery Meek, costume designer; Brad Poarch, sound designer, and John Fowler, lighting designer.

Lyric Theatre's production of Boeing Boeing stars national talent as well as local favorites. Playing Bernard, a successful Parisian architect, is New York's own Matthew Montelongo. Montelongo's Broadway credits include A View from the Bridge and The Ritz. His Off-Broadway credits include God's Ear, Five Flights and Tartuffe. In 2009, he performed in The Little Dog Laughed at Signature Theatre under the direction of Lyric Theatre's Artistic Director, Michael Baron.

Playing Bernard's three fiancés Gloria, Greta and Gabriel are Kristy Cates, Oklahoma's own Lexi Windsor and Kristi Forsch. Kristy Cates played Susan in the Oklahoma Premiere of SNAPSHOTS: A Musical Scrapbook at Lyric Theatre in the spring of 2010. She also played Elphaba in the first National Tour and ChicaGo Productions of Wicked. Lexi Windsor, who just recently played Columbia in Lyric Theatre's 2010 production of The Rocky Horror Show, is coming back to the Plaza Theatre to play the German bomb shell, Greta. Windsor's New York credits include A View From Here,The Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, Subways Are for Sleeping, Fade Out Fade In, The Best Little Whorehouse Goes Public and Upside Down.

Windsor is very excited to come back to her roots here in Oklahoma City. Windsor said, "Lyric Theatre is a wonderful theatre that I love being involved with, not only because I'm surrounded by fantastically talented people, but because the product is something I'm always proud to be a part of!"

Forsch, making her Lyric debut in Boeing Boeing, graduated with a BFA at Oklahoma City University this past December and has performed at local theatre's such as Oklahoma City Rep, Oklahoma Children's Theatre and Oklahoma City University.

Playing Bernard's two side-kicks, Robert and Bertha, are Oklahoma favorites Matthew Alvin Brown from the 2010 Lyric Productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Rocky Horror Show as well as Lyn Cramer, who performed in Lyric Theatre's 2008 production of Urinetown. Cramer has directed and choreographed many Lyric Theatre productions including 42nd Street, Swing, Smokey Joe's Café and Singing In The Rain.

Single tickets for Boeing Boeing are $40 and are now available for purchase. Performances times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday and
Saturday at 8:00 p.m. with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on Saturday afternoon. If you are wanting more information on Lyric Theatre's 2011 season subscriber benefit packages go to www.lyrictheatreokc.com, call (405) 524-9312, or come by the Lyric box office at 1727 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK.
